Cultural Alienation, in a deeper sense, is the root of present global crisis.
In this background we have taken the term 'Culture' in a very wider sense. It is to welcome and to intercommunicate the essence of each culture, which in the words of Dewey, '...... means something to be cultivated.' In this sense 'Culture' means cultivation of human value and thus 'Inter Cultural Studies and Research' implies intercommunication of ideas and values, inherent in each culture. Such an attitude will promote universality through the growth of intercultural relations and understandings in quest of harmony and peace.
Keeping this in view, a few thinkers and scholars from India and abroad founded an organization, by the name International Society for Intercultural Studies and research (ISISAR) on 1st January, 1983 and was subsequently registered under West Bengal State Registration Act (Registration No. : S/48896 of 1985-86). The end of the Society is to cultivate universal attitude through exchange and sharing of one another's progressive views for uplifting or raising mankind from an inherited past to a prospective future where the primary interests of the people will be to foster the processes of co-operative and co-existent society.
